Marine Varnish - Gloss

Marine Varnish has an Ultra Violet additive to withstand all temperatures and varieties of weather. Commonly called a Spar varnish, it works in all elements of weather and in all degrees of heat. It is nontoxic and water based providing a broad spectrum of use, from boats, decks, outdoor art and projects, furniture, to children’s playground equipment. May also be used indoors for protection against the sun’s UV rays.

Recommended Uses:

Make sure surface is clean and dry. Stir contents thoroughly. Pour into clean dish and using a soft brush, apply varnish over surface in light straight strokes. Dries clear in about 15 minutes, depending on humidity. Apply 3 or 4 coats, building up a hard-durable topcoat. It is suggested to apply only 2 coats a day, letting them dry overnight Best used at temperatures of between 65-80 degrees.

 

Surface Preparation:

Clean surface thoroughly. Test small area to assure compatibility to coatings under varnish. For best results apply 3 coats. The no VOC Acrylic Varnish should be mixed well before use. Make sure surface is clean and dry. Stir contents thoroughly. Pour into clean container and using a soft brush or spray gun, apply varnish over surface in light straight strokes. Dries clear in about 15 minutes, depending on humidity. Apply 2 or 3 coats, building up a hard-durable topcoat. Best used at temperatures of between 65-80 degrees. Store the material with the container lids securely in place.

 

Other Details: 

Coverage: One gallon of Marine Varnish will cover approximately 350 feet of surface with one coat. This is dependent on the type of material the product is being applied to and the method of application.

Drying Time: Dries to the touch in approximately 15 minutes, depending on humidity and weather factors. May apply several coats within a 24-hour period. Curing time is approximately 4 days. Ideal temperature for application is between 65-80 degrees F. Will continue to harden over time.

Clean Up: Cleans up with soap and water or ESF Hand/Brush Cleaner.
